Internal and External Factor of the United States Army

The United States Army is a complex organization made up of several commands and managed by different command levels. The U.S. Army is an organization different from that of a business in many unique ways. Specific examples of these differences include: financial reporting, disciplinary review procedures, and tactical operations. Although different in many ways, the Army shares many similar characteristics of a normal profit business. Army personnel are managed by supervisors arranged in a command structure similar to that of a business hierarchy. The Army will also encounter internal and external factors that could impede or enhance operations. In doing so, the Army accomplishes missions assigned by the President, Secretary of Defense and combatant commanders, and transforming the future. The planning function of management ensures the mission is always the objective along with orders from the Commander In Chief. The organizing function of management is impacted in the globalization efforts of the Army. The process of transformation of local or regional phenomena into global ones takes the utmost managerial ability from all ranks and corporations sustaining the Army. For instance, institutional organizations provide the infrastructure necessary to raise, train, equip, deploy, and ensure the readiness of all Army forces in strategic global locations. Organizing and strategic planning functions help the training base provide military skills and professional education to every soldier -as well as members of sister services and allied forces. It also allows the Army to expand rapidly in time of war.
